The Netherlands Institute is a representative of the Dutch universities in North-West of Russia.
It was established in 1997 by six major universities of the Netherlands: the Universiteit van Amsterdam,
University of Groningen, Leiden University, Utrecht University, Radboud University Nijmegen and the VU University Amsterdam.
Our educational mission consists in promoting information about higher educational opportunities in the Netherlands amongst Russian students and increasing the number of people interested in research and cultural cooperation between Russia and the Netherlands.
The Netherlands Institute also supports Dutch language and literature and Russian language and literature studies in Russia and the Netherlands respectively.
On the cultural side, we represent the historic and cultural background of the Netherlands through participation in joint Russian and Dutch projects, as well as international events.
We provide the following services:
- providing information about studies, research and scholarships
- coordination of various scholarship programs;
- organizational support to students in the Netherlands and Russia;
- administrative assistance in research projects, lectures and courses;
- contacting archives, libraries, museums, educational institutions and governmental offices;
- setting up and developing relevant contacts;
- free visa support to Russian students and post-graduates
