Applications for the course “Reforming Russia: Why it was so difficult?” are open!

Dr. Sergei Podbolotov, professor of history at the European University in Saint Petersburg, will discuss the different major reforms in Russian history, from Peter the Great to Gorbachev. Are you interested? Please apply before the 15th of April. 

De course consists of 5 lectures on the 22nd and 29th of April and the 13th, 20th and 27th of May. 

During the course the following topics will be discussed: 

  1. Reforms by Peter the Great
  2. Reforms by Catherine the Great and Alexander the Blessed
  3. Reforms by Alexander II
  4. Reforms by Stolypin
  5. Reforms by Khrushchev and Gorbachev

De lectures will start at 7 PM (Amsterdam time zone, GMT+1)
